Sima Aunty is back for season 2 of Netflix’s hit Indian American dating show, Indian Matchmaking.
Indian Matchmaking undoubtedly resonated with Indian and South Asian diaspora across the world when it first premiered on Netflix in 2020. The not-so subtle pressure of getting married and settling down from community members was something not only Desi Americans could relate to but became something relatable for anyone in their late 20s and 30s.
Returning with fan favorites Nadia, Pradhyuman and Aparna – S2 of Indian Matchmaking introduces new matchmaking hopefuls as well. Check out some of the new hopefuls below:

Despite new faces, season 2 of Matchmaking provides us with the same ancient Indian and South Asian customs and expectations which some might call ‘toxic’ in 2022. Sima Aunty voices her frustrations with some of her clients as they are too ‘picky’ and perhaps even shallow when they’re looking for someone with a specific height, age, job, location and sometimes even skin complexion (yikes).
While some are enjoying the ride as much as they did the first time around, others are saying season 2 should never have been made.
“Indian Matchmaking” didn’t need a second season.” writes Meera Razdan of Buzzfeed News. “The only thing less enjoyable than being on an underwhelming first date is watching a series of other people’s underwhelming first dates.”
