Neeraj Chopra won the Diamond Trophy – handed out to winners of the Diamond League final every year – with a throw of 88.44m. He is the first Indian to ever win the prestigious trophy.

Chopra had qualified for the Diamond League final after finishing first in the Diamond League leg at Lausanne (the first Indian to win a DL event), and second in the Stockholm leg (where he broke the national record).
